Our readers may remember the fatal hit-and-run accident that killed a New York City Uber rider last Christmas Eve. Recently, the driver of the Lamborghini, which is alleged to have fled the scene was arrested.
Christmas Eve crash
According to the New York Police Department, the Christmas Eve accident happened when the Lamborghini SUBV allegedly collided with another vehicle, an Uber rideshare vehicle. The NYPD said that the Uber driver was trying to make a left turn onto 103rd Avenue from Rockaway Boulevard when the impact occurred. The impact killed the Uber passenger, injured the driver and flipped the Lamborghini. The NYPD then claims that the driver fled the scene.
The criminal arrest
According to the NYPD, the local was taken into custody and officially arrested. He was charged with criminally negligent homicide, along with leaving the scene of an auto accident that resulted in death. These charges came almost 11 months after the accident, and it is unclear why it took so long for an arrest to be made.
